Legal Rights Service

Our Legal Rights Service can help you with benefits appeals, community care issues and challenge discrimination against you if you are blind or partially sighted.

How we can help

We are a small team that can provide you with legal rights information, advice and, where possible, formal representation if you want to challenge a decision or discrimination made against you. This can include taking cases to court or tribunal.

The areas of law that we cover are the Equality Act, community care and welfare benefits law relating to sight loss.

We can also advise you if you are the relative or carer of someone with sight loss, and need help to support them with the same areas of law.

How to contact our Legal Rights Service

Call us through the Helpline on 0303 123 9999 from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Calls cost no more than a standard rate call to an 01 or 02 number, and count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls. The price of calls varies between different providers, including between landline and mobile companies, so check with your provider if you are unsure.
